Minimum Wage Increase at the Y
MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE TO $15/HOUR AT THE GREATER GREEN BAY YMCA
As the leading nonprofit not only in our area, but across the country, the Greater Green Bay YMCA strengthens communities by connecting people to their potential, purpose, and each other. At the center of this work is one pivotal element – a true force that makes this all possible: our employees. We know the past 2+ years have been filled with so much uncertainty in the lives of our staff, members, and community. We have persevered through many challenges, and the Greater Green Bay YMCA is stronger than ever, and that is because of each and every one of our incredible staff members.
We also acknowledge that the market has continued to evolve rapidly as it relates to compensation. The Greater Green Bay YMCA believes in providing a total rewards package that is both competitive and equitable. While our staff work at the YMCA to serve the community, it is also important they receive a livable wage. Our YMCA is taking steps both today and, in the future, to provide additional compensation and benefits to our staff that align with the market and the impact of our organization.
As a first step to this multi-year process, the Greater Green Bay YMCA is increasing its minimum wage to $15/hour, effective May 8, 2022. We have made this important change to recognize the superior work of our staff, and to attract more talented individuals to our Y in order to deepen and expand the impact we have within our communities.
