The Greater Green Bay YMCA is committed to fostering a compassionate and informed community by providing impactful training opportunities. These programs equip YMCA staff, members, and the broader community with the tools and knowledge to foster equity and belonging in their personal and professional lives. Pricing ranges from $0 to $250, depending on the format and scope of the session.

Adult Mental Health First Aid
This training equips participants with the skills to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults (ages 18+). Through an interactive and evidence-based curriculum, participants will build mental health literacy, learn practical strategies to provide initial support, and gain confidence in safely and effectively guiding individuals to appropriate resources and professional help. Topics include recognizing common mental health conditions, understanding their impact, reducing stigma, and enhancing communication skills.
This learning opportunity is designed for adults (ages 18+) who want to make a meaningful difference in their community or workplace.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
This training is specifically designed for adults who work with or support adolescents aged 12-18, such as parents, teachers, coaches, youth group leaders, and other caregivers. It provides participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize early signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges in youth, including depression, anxiety, self-harm, and substance misuse. Participants will learn how to approach, assist, and connect young people to appropriate resources and professional care, ensuring timely support. The course also focuses on building, understanding, reducing stigma, and promoting empathy for youth experiencing mental health challenges. With practical strategies and an interactive, evidence-based curriculum, this training empowers adults to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
This learning opportunity is intended for individuals aged 18+.
Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)
The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is a comprehensive, research-based assessment tool designed to help individuals and organizations enhance their intercultural competence. By identifying a participant’s current level of cultural sensitivity on the Intercultural Development Continuum, the IDI provides personalized insights and actionable strategies for growth. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of their own perspective and biases, as well as practical tools to navigate and adapt effectively in culturally diverse environments.
This program is open to individuals aged 15+ and is suitable for students, educators, leaders, and community members interested in advancing their intercultural competence and contributing to a more inclusive world.
Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) is a comprehensive approach designed to understand, recognize, and respond to the far-reaching impacts of trauma on individuals’ brain development, behavior, and overall well-being. This training introduces participants to the Seven Essential Ingredients (7ei) of trauma-informed care, a model grounded in research and best practices. These principles emphasize creating safe, supportive environments that foster positive relationships, promote a sense of belonging, and build resilience in individuals who have experienced trauma.
This learning opportunity is designed for adults (ages 18+) and is particularly beneficial for those working in education, healthcare, social services, youth programming, or any field involving vulnerable populations.
American Red Cross Certification Courses
The American Red Cross offers a variety of training programs designed to provide participants with the skills and confidence to prevent, recognize, and respond o emergencies and injuries in different settings. These courses follow the latest standards and techniques, preparing individual to act swiftly and effectively in critical situations.
Available courses include:
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- First Aid
- Lifeguarding
These learning opportunities are designed for individuals aged 15+ and are beneficial for those working in education, recreation, healthcare, or any role requiring emergency preparedness. Upon successful completion, participants earn nationally recognized certifications, demonstrating their ability to respond effectively to emergencies and contribute to a safer community.
