SWIM LESSONS
For over 100 years, the YMCA has been one of America's favorite swim instructors and a leader in water safety. Our proven curriculum and friendly environment enhance skills, all while having fun.
At the Y, swimming is a life skill. We offer a wide selection of parent & child, preschool, school age, teen, and adult swim lessons that build strong and confident swimmers. All age groups are taught skills in a progressive learning style divided according to their developmental milestones.
SAFETY AROUND WATER PROGRAM
Safety Around Water consists of lessons designed to teach kids water safety skills that help reduce the risk of drowning and build their skills and confidence in and around water. A typical session includes:
- Exercises to help kids adjust to being in the water
- Instruction in two skill sets kids can use if they unexpectedly find themselves in the water: Jump, Push, Turn, Grab and Swim, Float Swim
- Safety topics like what to do if you see someone in the water who needs help
- Fun activities that reinforce skills

SWIM SPECIALTY
In addition to swim lessons, the Y offers Swim Team and specialty swim classes including: Log Rolling, Diving, Kayaking/Rescue & Roll, Master Swim and Red Cross Lifeguard Training.
PRIVATE & SEMI PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Beginner or advanced, swimmers who love the water and want to build confidence are welcome to work with our swim instructors. Private (one-on-one instruction) and semi-private (two students and one instructor) lessons are 30 minutes. Ages 3+
